Crashing to shore, the power of water.
"Isle of Dreams"
I've made numerous trips to the California coast and to Hawaii. It never fails to amaze me the colors and power of water; Azure, green and blue in contrast with the reds, coral and browns of the shoreline...a sense of contrast and opposites.
I think I was born part fish: My Mother often told me when I saw the Pacific Ocean at he ripe age of two, I said, "Let me BUMP in the water!" We lived in Vancouver, British Columbia at that time and many trips were taken to the shoreline. As I got older, I begged my Father to get a swimming pool so he set up a dough boy in the back yard. I had wrinkled skins for the summer.

When I lived in California I saw the poppies do a super bloom three or four times before I moved to the interior. The whole coast turned bright orange as billions of flowers erupted from their dirt homes at once! It was something to behold. No smell though which always surprised me.

Otter Sea
I am all a-twitter with exciting news! The Phoenix Zoo has accepted my oil painting "Otter Sea" for their gallery show in September of this year! The show opens September 8th, 2023 with an awards ceremony and opening reception at the WILD SIDE GALLERY that evening.
"Otter Sea" 12 by 12 Oil, $750
Arizona Artists "Celebrate the Natural World" put on by the Center for Nature Conservation at the zoo's gallery. Christi Manielito and Frank Gonzales were the selection judges for this prestigious show. Only 50 works were selected.
